Principals Reflection
Dear Families,
Welcome to Term 2. I hope you all had a restful and refreshing break with your families. At SBW we meet as a school community everyday at 11:30. The purpose of this is to check in with all students and classes as well as provide any updates, reminders, etc. This week a constant theme at line up has been praise for our students and the way that they have settled back into school routines and structures. This is a credit not only to our students but also to our staff for the way in which they have all developed positive relationships with all students throughout the beginning of the school year and implemented clear expectations, routines and structures. At SBW we have high behavioural expectations of all students and these expectations are based upon our school values of care, courage, curiosity and connection as well as our positive behaviour framework. I do ask that you are consistently having conversations with your child about how they are demonstrating our school values in their actions.
This newsletter is shorter one that is focused on upcoming events, with a more detailed communication coming out next week. I do encourage all families to please have a close look at upcoming events and to contact the school if further clarification is needed. Please also ensure that you are consistently checking COMPASS for communications from the school in order to be up to date with the latest information.
As we begin Term 2, I leave you with the following prayer.
Dear Lord,
We ask that you be present in this space.
Lord, as we prepare for the coming of a new term make us ready, attentive and available to hear you.
Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day with the assurance that You walk through it with us.
Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use.
May all that we are today, all that we try to do today, may all our encounters, reflections, even the frustrations and failings all be place in your hands.
May the work we do and the way we do it, bring new hope, new life, and courage to all we come in contact with this term. We thank you, Lord.
We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Nic Saltmarsh
