Principal's Reflection

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 2. I hope that you all had a restful and refreshing break. This term will be a term filled with learning and extra curricular opportunities for our students. Of particular note is our Grade 2-6's attending the Madagascar Performance, P-1 attending National Simultaneous Storytime at the Wynyard Library, Mother's Day Celebrations and NW Cross Country. Please also note that Mid Year Reports will be be released to families on Friday June 27 and Parent Teacher will be held on Tuesday July 1 and Wednesday July 2.

On Easter Monday, we received the sad news of the passing of Pope Francis. For our students, Pope Francis is the only Pope that they have known. Pope Francis had a significant impact on the Church and the lives of many around the world with his key messages and actions focusing on caring for our common home, assisting the poor and demonstrating compassion to all we encounter. These key messages are inspirational and aspirational for us as a school as we have the privilege of educating our future leaders.

This newsletter is shorter one that is focused on upcoming events, with a more detailed communication coming out next week. I do encourage all families to please have a close look at upcoming events and to contact the school if further clarification is needed. Please also ensure that you are consistently checking COMPASS for communications from the school in order to be up to date with the latest information.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Nic

School Photos

Dear Families,

MSP has sent an email regarding the ordering process for school photos. Please act on this as soon as possible, with any questions that you may have, directed to MSP Photography.

We ask that students wear Full Winter Uniform for School Photo Day.

All sibling photos are taken before school from 8.30 am. Students must present themselves to the photographers at the allocated time (8.30 am) for the sibling photo to be taken.

Reminder to please purchase your photos via the Compass portal on your computer or the Compass app on your Android and iOS devices. We have a copy of the family shoot key numbers if you require yours; don't hesitate to get in touch with the office. For all other enquiries, please contact MSP directly.

Regards,

Communication and Meeting with Staff

Effective communication is central to positive working relationships. This supports a strong partnership between staff and families and enables us to report your child’s progress better and cater to their needs. At SBW, we welcome the opportunity to meet with families to discuss your child's education.

It is important to note that class teachers are always your first point of contact in the partnership between home and school. Please contact your child's classroom teacher in the first instance to arrange a meeting at a mutually convenient time. Should you require further support, please make an appointment via the office to meet with a member of our Leadership team.

Uniform Requirements

It was communicated at the end of 2024 that all students would have transitioned to the new uniform requirements at the start of Term 2.

We expect all students to be in the updated school uniform at the start of Term 2.

Please see below the Uniform changes that have been rolled out over previous years.
